Terms of Service

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. By using it, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate and complete.

You may create an account using email, Google Sign-In, or Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@jomlocal.com if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.

When using the App, you agree NOT to:

• Post false, misleading, offensive, or unlawful content
• Upload photographs of identifiable people without their consent
• Submit spam, fake reviews, or manipulate ratings
• Harass, threaten, or impersonate other users or businesses
• Attempt to access, scrape, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the App or its servers
• Use the App for any commercial purpose without our written consent

We reserve the right to remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

You retain ownership of the reviews, photos, and other content you submit (“User Content”). By submitting User Content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, and use it within the App and for promoting the App. You are solely responsible for your User Content and confirm that you have the rights to share it.

The App surfaces places, trip suggestions, and AI-generated guidance (“Kak Lin”) for informational purposes only. We do not guarantee the accuracy, availability, pricing, or opening hours of any listed place. Always verify important details directly with the business before relying on them. Your use of any recommendation is at your own risk.

Some places may be sponsored or promoted by businesses through our partner platform. Sponsored placements are identified within the App. The inclusion of a business does not constitute an endorsement by us, and any dealings between you and a business are solely between you and that business.

The App, including its design, logo, text, and software, is owned by Battut Sdn Bhd and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the App without our prior written permission, except for your own personal, non-commercial use.

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and use your information. By using the App, you consent to that processing.

The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that the content within it is accurate or complete.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Battut Sdn Bhd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App. This includes any reliance on place information, recommendations, or content provided through the App.

You may stop using the App at any time and request deletion of your account and data — see our Delete Account page. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the App. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the effective date above and, where appropriate, by an in-app notice. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any disputes arising from them shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.
