Santuari Ikan Air Tawar Timah Tasoh
The freshwater fish sanctuary on the Timah Tasoh shore is the most hands-on stop on the lake. It is set up for a half day rather than a photo: boats, kayaks, fishing, camping and a feeding pond, all on one site off Lorong Kesinai.
Prices are modest and quoted per boat rather than per head. A patrol boat around the lake runs about RM50 for eight people or RM60 for ten; a fishing boat is around RM50 for three. Kayaks are roughly RM10 single and RM15 double, and an overnight camping pitch about RM50.
There is a stocked pond where children can feed the fish, and the site sells freshwater fish fresh and pickled — the pickled fish is a local speciality worth trying even if you skip the boats.
It opens daily from 8am to 7.30pm, with stalls, toilets and a surau on site. Mornings are calmer on the water; late afternoon is better for the light.
